Nous sommes Bas et Marike van Dam et nous avons déménagé de Dieren, Gelderland, en France avec nos trois enfants en avril 2022. Notre fils Ferdinand (15 ans) vit toujours avec nous et notre fille Annabel et notre fils Diederik vivent maintenant aux Pays-Bas, mais continuent de nous aider régulièrement au camping pendant la haute saison.

Nous travaillons tous d'arrache-pied pour construire ici une vie aussi autonome et proche de la nature que possible et pour partager avec le reste du monde la beauté de cette région de France que nous avons découverte, à travers notre camping.

Wij zijn Bas en Marike van Dam en we zijn in april 2022 met onze drie kinderen vanuit Dieren, Gelderland naar Frankrijk verhuisd. Onze zoon Ferdinand (15) woont nog bij ons en onze dochter Annabel en zoon Diederik wonen nu in Nederland, maar helpen nog regelmatig mee op de camping tijdens het hoogseizoen.

We werken er hard aan om hier een zo zelfvoorzienend en natuurlijk mogelijk leven op te bouwen en het prachtige stukje Frankrijk dat we hier hebben gevonden met de rest van de wereld te delen in de vorm van een camping.

We are Bas and Marike van Dam and we moved from Dieren, Gelderland to France with our three children in April 2022. Our son Ferdinand (15) still lives with us and our daughter Annabel and son Diederik now live in the Netherlands, but still regularly help out at the campsite during the high season.

We are all working hard to build a life here that is as self-sufficient and natural as possible and to share the beautiful part of France that we have found here with the rest of the world in the form of a campsite.

Nous sommes un petit camping, mais avec un grand cœur ! Nous faisons ce que nous aimons et ce que nous savons faire. D'après notre expérience, c'est ce qui fonctionne le mieux.

Par exemple, Bas adore partager ses connaissances sur les activités à faire dans la région, discuter sans fin de sujets divers, s'assurer de la propreté de la piscine, acheter du pain le matin et proposer son aide en cas de besoin. Bas aide également les locaux toute l'année en répondant à leurs questions sur internet, les ordinateurs et le téléphone via son entreprise, Bastiaan au Secours !

Marike s'occupe du potager, des caravanes et des sanitaires. Elle organise le repas communautaire hebdomadaire et la soirée frites, anime de temps en temps un atelier nature ludique et reçoit des clients toute l'année dans son cabinet de massage et de thérapie sensorielle. Elle propose également des séances aux campeurs qui souhaitent se ressourcer ou simplement profiter d'un bon massage :-).

Ferdinand (15 ans) s'occupe généralement des animaux, aide à tondre la pelouse et à nettoyer la piscine, et aime pêcher, souvent avec les enfants des campeurs. Chacun a donc son rôle :-)

Wij zijn een kleine camping, maar met een grote geest! We doen wat we leuk vinden en wat we goed kunnen. Dat werkt uiteindelijk het beste, hebben wij ervaren.

Zo vindt Bas het leuk om te vertellen wat er te doen is in de omgeving, praat honderduit over diverse onderwerpen, zorgt voor een schoon zwembad, haalt brood in de ochtend en biedt hulp daar waar het nodig is. Bas helpt het hele jaar door ook mensen hier in de omgeving die vragen hebben omtrent internet, computers en telefonie met zijn bedrijfje Bastiaan au Secours!

Marike verzorgt de moestuinen, de vouwwagens, het sanitair, regelt wekelijks de gezamenlijke maaltijd & friet avond en geeft af en toe een leuke natuur-gerichte workshop en heeft het hele jaar door clienten in haar Massage & Sensi Therapie praktijk. Ze geeft ook sessies aan camping bezoekers die de balans in hun leven terug willen vinden of gewoon zin hebben in een fijne massage:-).

Ferdinand (15) verzorgt de dieren meestal, helpt met grasmaaien en het zwembad schoonhouden en vist graag waarbij hij regelmatig gasten-kinderen meeneemt.

Zo heeft iedereen zijn eigen rol:-)

We're a small campsite, but with a big spirit! We do what we love and what we're good at. In our experience, that works best in the end.

For example, Bas enjoys telling people what there is to do in the area, chats endlessly about various topics, makes sure the pool is clean, gets bread in the morning, and offers help where needed. Bas also helps locals year-round with questions about internet, computers, and phone service through his company, Bastiaan au Secours!

Marike takes care of the vegetable gardens, the trailers, and the sanitary facilities. She organizes the weekly communal meal and fries evening, occasionally gives a fun nature-oriented workshop, and has clients year-round in her Massage & Sensi Therapy practice. She also offers sessions to campsite visitors who want to regain balance in their lives or simply enjoy a nice massage :-).

Ferdinand (15) usually takes care of the animals, helps mow the lawn and clean the pool, and enjoys fishing, often taking children from his guests along. So everyone has their own role:-)
